• The UNC - Bankrupt of Ideas

At a media conference held at the Party’s Office in San Fernando this morning, David Abdulah, the Political Leader of the Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) exposed the dirty tricks of the United National Congress in the upcoming Local Government Elections. Mr. Abdulah informed the media that the MSJ’s Strategy Team had come up with the Slogan – “Send Them a Message” – for the Campaign and that this Slogan had been branded several weeks ago. Last Sunday at a Meeting of MSJ’s Party Activists and Candidates the Brand was unveiled with T-Shirts, a Brochure (see attached) and a Campaign Song composed and sung by well-known Soca Artist – Preacher. The Campaign Song is also entitled – Send Them a Message. All the branded material was distributed last Sunday and the branded slogan and a short clip of the song have been on the MSJ’s Facebook pages for the better part of this week (see attached).

Mr. Abdulah informed the media that it had come to the MSJ’s attention last evening that the UNC had put out a flyer advertising its public meetings with a tag line “send them a message”. The UNC has clearly stolen the MSJ’s campaign slogan. In the view of the MSJ’s Political Leader this act demonstrates just how bankrupt and bereft of ideas the UNC is. Indeed, it is also yet another manifestation of the moral corruption of the UNC. As it was corrupt while in Government so it is corrupt in its appeal to the electorate.

This will not, however, in any way daunt the MSJ. Indeed, Mr. Abdulah stated that as the MSJ campaigns in the Boroughs of Point Fortin and Arima the party will tell the Burgesses to Send the UNC a Message by not voting for corruption. The MSJ also wishes to let the electorate know that it has not had and will absolutely not have any communication with the UNC. This matter will also be referred to the MSJ’s attorneys.

The MSJ will launch its Local Government Election Campaign on Sunday November 6th at 2.00 pm at the Auditorium, San Fernando City Corporation, Harris Promenade, San Fernando. At the Launch the MSJ’s Political Leader will spell out all the reasons why the MSJ is calling on the Burgesses of Point Fortin and Arima to Send the PNM a Message that it’s time for proper representation and that the MSJ is the best party to deliver good representation. Send Them a Message – Vote MSJ!
